Symbolism to the Journey Free Essays
Regardless of whether we are perusing a sonnet or a short story, there is a story to be found inside. The author can catch perusers with their utilization of beat, portrayal, or a fantasy setting, among numerous different things all through their composition. It is creative mind that permits us, the perusers of these accounts and sonnets, to have the option to fill in the spaces or intellectually envision what the author needs us to see through utilization of spellbinding words or imagery. We will compose a custom article test on Imagery to the Journey or on the other hand any comparative point just for you Request Now In the sonnet ââ¬Å"The Road Not Takenâ⬠by Robert Frost, the short story ââ¬Å"A Worn Pathâ⬠by Eudora Welty, and the short story ââ¬Å"Used To Live Here Onceâ⬠by Jean Rhys I saw a typical subject. Regardless of what desolate excursion we end up on, we decide how the excursion closes. The forlorn excursion that every one of these scholarly pieces tells about is introduced contrastingly in each composition. In ââ¬Å"The Road Not Takenâ⬠, Frost utilized ââ¬Å"Two streets veered in a yellow woodâ⬠which revealed to me that there was an approaching excursion; he likewise utilized ââ¬Å"and sorry I was unable to travel bothâ⬠as an approach to share that he needed to settle on this choice of which way to take. Ice additionally utilized the word ââ¬Å"Iâ⬠ordinarily, which permitted me to envision only him. In ââ¬Å"A Worn Pathâ⬠, Welty utilized the word ââ¬Å"sheâ⬠all through the piece which gave me the picture of this lady strolling alone. The character addressed creatures ââ¬Å"ââ¬â¢Out of my way, all you foxes, owls, beetlesââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬ , etc. At the point when the essayist represented this discussion in the story, it gave me the sentiment of dejection. This lady was so forlorn, she addressed creatures. The way that she was strolling ââ¬Å"ran up hillâ⬠. The possibility that this way she was on was up a slope given imagery of a hard life. To me, strolling up a slope would be difficult work to get to the goal. Since the depiction of this lady had been of a matured lady, ââ¬Å"her eyes blue with ageâ⬠and her countless fanning wrinkles, it was a pity to discover this lady strolling alone up slope. In ââ¬Å"Used To Live Here Onceâ⬠, Rhys, as well, utilized the word ââ¬Å"sheâ⬠commonly to depict the character in the story. The use of a solitary word painted the image of dejection. ââ¬Å"She was remaining by the riverâ⬠and ââ¬Å"She went to the well used stone stepsâ⬠. This lady was in this excursion alone. In each bit of artistic composing being examined in this paper, the forlornness all through the excursion is clear. Nonetheless, the completion of the excursions differ in light of the decisions the characters make. We will address this further on into the paper. The setting of a story or sonnet is the thing that attracts the peruser. I wound up perusing ââ¬Å"The Road Not Taken Firstâ⬠. The explanation was that it starter out with just about a contention of where the sonnet could take me. With the main line being ââ¬Å"Two streets separated in yellow woodâ⬠, I wound up pondering where the pathways would take me. As the sonnet started, I saw it as written in first individual sine the essayist utilized ââ¬Å"Iâ⬠as the primary character term. Ice composed ââ¬Å"and be one voyager, long I stoodâ⬠. This empowered me to really step into the charactersââ¬â¢, or the writerââ¬â¢s, shoes and see these pathways from his viewpoint. I like having the option to feel as though I am in the story. Ice expounded on one way that it he could see where it ââ¬Å"bent in the undergrowthâ⬠. He went on that the other way ââ¬Å"was green and needed wearâ⬠. This painted an image for me of real woods, split into two pathways, both diverse in all likelihood finishing in a better place. In the rear of my psyche, I had a thought that these were representative of something a lot greater. The imagery inside the sonnet ââ¬Å"The Road Not Takenâ⬠was plentiful. ââ¬Å"Two streets veered could be viewed as two things, two occupations, two thoughts, two of anything that one could pick between. The word ââ¬Å"yellowâ⬠, as used to depict the two streets in which Frost could pick is emblematic of maturing or rot. To me, it appeared as though Frost could have been in an emotional meltdown, wherein he felt old and required change, and he had two new streets, of which the pathways and endings were obscure, to browse. One way had been the one he was on, however didn't have a clue where it would end. The other street was green, apparently energetic, and the completion, as well, was obscure. Ice alluded to the two ways as ââ¬Å"in leaves no progression had trodden blackâ⬠. In his portrayal, the utilization of the word ââ¬Å"blackâ⬠shows imagery of death. It appeared as though Frost was breaking down his decisions and was seeing that his elective pathway, in spite of the fact that it looked tempting, he asked why nobody else had returned in the event that they had taken that way. He realized that either way would at last lead to death, as that was his destiny. There came a defining moment in the sonnet where Frost went from hesitation to having decided of his decision. Rather than being before two ways ââ¬Å"in a yellow woodâ⬠he finished the sonnet that he was in just ââ¬Å"a woodâ⬠in which he had decided to remain ââ¬Å"on the first for another dayâ⬠. It appeared to me that his examination of the ways he could browse lead him to comprehend that the obscure isn't as tempting as the known. As per John Savoie, the logical inconsistency exists in the possibility that the two ways were ââ¬Å"equally layâ⬠however Frost decided to take the easiest course of action which without a doubt is questionable as there is ââ¬Å"a absence of differentiation between the roadsâ⬠. (Savoie, 2004) His excursion, albeit apparently desolate, was dictated by the choices he made or would make. The second piece I read attracted me on the grounds that the setting was not one of secret, yet rather it was one of pity. Used to Live Here Onceâ⬠was the second piece I decided to peruse. The setting was one of misery. I could imagine this lady ââ¬Å"standing by the riverâ⬠and ââ¬Å"remembering each oneâ⬠. It gave me that she had been there some time before yet had overlooked the excellence of the stream after some time. Tragic beginn ings to abstract pieces are not something that regularly attracts me. In any case, the story developed increasingly fascinating to me as the setting moved to her old home. At the point when she saw that ââ¬Å"the screw pine was goneâ⬠, I despite everything had the sympathy and trouble for the character. Since the essayist decided to write in a third individual point of view, it was hard for me to really relate to the character by and by. Rhys composed ââ¬Å"it was weird to see a vehicle remaining before itâ⬠. The representation of this vehicle ââ¬Å"Standingâ⬠before her old house was hard to be viewed as unusual since it was anything but a genuine sentiment of the character yet rather a perception by the essayist. Actually, the possibility that the essayist was this near the character made me think she was discussing herself in third individual. Elizabeth Abel composed a piece on Jean Rhys saying that Rhysââ¬â¢ compositions commonly subject us to ââ¬Å"sparse and dull narrativesâ⬠and ââ¬Å"are varieties of topics of disappointment and dismissal. (Abel, 1979) This could be, maybe, how the essayist had the option to cause me to feel as though, in spite of the fact that told in third individual, I had the option to relate to her all the more intently. I had the option to have was the sympathy that the essayist felt for the character through the words, for example, when she talked ââ¬Å"shylyâ⬠to the children however they didn't hear her. This, as well, cements the possibility of Abel that Rhys composed of maybe herself in one more dismissed situation. It appeared as though the excursion was desolate for this character. The words ââ¬Å"sheâ⬠discloses to me this and furthermore the way that the setting is quiet and tranquil however without feeling from the character. From start to finish, Rhys utilized imagery to permit me, the peruser, to relate and maybe dive further into the importance of things. The character remained by the waterway, which is representative of life. She didn't stroll into the stream, she remained by it. This is emblematic of the whole story itself, since toward the finish of the story we find that the lady was to be sure effectively dead and thinking over into her own life. This was an excursion that the character took alone. The character at that point strolls down a street. This street is exceptionally representative to this story. The portrayal is that the street is ââ¬Å"much more extensive than it used to beâ⬠. This in fact reveals to me that the character ended her life for allowed. She had never genuinely set aside the effort to see the magnificence in the things around her; this is the reason the street appears to be such a great amount of more extensive to her since she has passed on. The day ââ¬Å"was a fine blue dayâ⬠. The shading blue is utilized to tell the peruser that it was a quiet day. Rhys composed on to disclose to us that the character saw the pine tree was absent from outside of her own home, as her excursion drove her to her old doorstep. This is imagery of eternality. Her old house had been painted white, which gives the sentiment of life or immaculateness. The characterââ¬â¢s perception of the kid and young lady playing in the yard was one that I will always remember. The shades of the yellow grass as she moved toward them and the dark in the boyââ¬â¢s eyes as the character attempted to address him. This is the point at which I originally understood that the character was in reality a phantom glancing in on her previous lifestyle. The utilization of hues all through ââ¬Å"Used to Live Here Onceâ⬠is the thing that brought me into this story. At my underlying read of this story, I recently believed that the essayist enjoyed hues. While connecting these hues to imagery, it gave me an a lot further viewpoint on what Rhys was attempting to let me know, the peruser. The forlorn excursion that this character was on was intelligent of the desolate excursion she lived when she was alive. It, by and by, affirms that the choices we make in life are what decide the completion of our j

As most extreme residents of this nation are locked in by means of web based life, the advancement, just as correspondence process, will essentially upgrade for the presumed associations of the nation. The student has basically given th e applicable hypotheses of correspondences both interior and outside alongside the points of interest and impediments related with such practice in the association. A short depiction of the essentialness of the utilization of internet based life correspondences by associations of Singapore has likewise been accommodated empowering online networking as networks of training. Outside interchanges The significance of online networking in the business world explicitly Singapore is wonderful in the current period. Through web based life, an intense change has been seen in the method of association between every association with their partners. An internet based life organizing instrument can be created in an association through getting the hang of, looking over, preparing, following rules, detailing, engaging and observing. Present day innovation has basically changed the base of outside correspondences while making the Internet an esteemed asset towards coming to and accomplishing new clients (Botan Hazleton, 2010). Associations must make sites for letting different individuals find out about the up and coming item and most recent administrations. Internet based life organizing devices hugy affect the individuals of Singapore which can prompt accomplishment just as disappointment. Thus, this innovation must be gotten to properly with explicit measures. The improvement correspon dence hypothesis unmistakably expresses that there is no advancement conceivable without correspondence which at present web based life took a necessary part in it (Melkote, 2003). Shannon depicted correspondence hypothesis through the seven components of correspondence which are the collector source, sender, goal, criticism, channel, message, and entropic components (negative and positive). These components are very much engaged with internet based life organizing instruments which are acknowledged by 70% of the number of inhabitants in the nation Singapore. Internet based life organizing apparatuses, for example, YouTube, Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Linkedin, Google+ and Flickr are helpful for the individuals of Singapore just as the associations to impart. This, thusly, will be both financially savvy just as time saving and will assist with arriving at target socioeconomics fundamentally. This sort of systems administration correspondences permits different associations to connect with crowds all through the world. This, thus, lets associations to achieve greater perceivability just as will be gainful for the association in every single perspective. The top most possible advantage of empowering web based life in an association is essentially the capacity to accomplish minimal effort presentation or advancement of the organization everywhere throughout the globe (Cheney et al. 2010). Modernisation hypothesis additionally underpins outer correspondence by means of web based life organizing which obviously expresses that at the last stage individuals will acknowledge and appreciate the accommodations which is offered by innovation while supplanting customary culture totally (Bernstein, 1971)). This hypothesis suggests impeccably on the current circumstance of Singapore. There are a few favorable circumstances of online life organizing apparatuses over conventional advertising devices as through innovation connecting clients is all the more simple and worthy by the individuals at present. Individuals surf through the web just as different sites for social occasion data other than learning through bulletins, printed papers and other conventional modes (Welch Jackson, 2007). It is obvious from the report of We Are Social 2017, an ever increasing number of individuals of Singapore are participating in internet based life world by means of their portable which expresses that on the off chance that an association utilizes online life as networks of training, at that point it can essentially achieve the best situation in the objective market. Business organizing, just as recruiting stages, for example, Linkedin, helps different associations for speaking with its every partner (Guffey Loewy, 2010). Associations are profited with the utilization of online li fe organizing as it is liberated from cost regardless. Through online networking organizing associations can spare their time just as their cash. Indeed, even not many connections that are joined to the locales can be charged to the clients. Thus, this sort of devices can be useful for creating, following and achieving a few likely customers, which helps the associations in a few different ways. Through internet based life organizing, a two-way correspondence model can be set up as it can have an increasingly fruitful methodology towards clients. Posting questions and studies will essentially assist an association with learning the perspectives and necessities of different clients that will likewise assist with correcting the defective regions while serving better administrations (Chermak Weiss, 2005). Online networking organizing instruments help to bring issues to light among different individuals while empowering the individuals to comprehend the administrations, standards, and e stimations of the association. Social substance helps the connections to the sites through showing up in list items which thus upgrades online deals just as search traffic. This instrument causes an association to upgrade backing and dependability from different clients those are as of now a piece of the association, just as new clients, can find out about it through new systems administration modes while creating new leads (Arvidsson, 2010). For example, if an association utilizes the apparatuses of web based life systems administration and conveys the most recent message to its customers by means of online then there is a higher possibility that it will pick up the consideration of a few clients than utilizing customary strategies, for example, bulletins, pamphlets, and so on. Alongside points of interest come impediments also. In any case, with the expanding commitment of individuals in Singapore through online networking will outperform the weaknesses. As internet based life organizing devices will connect each individuals to the association. This sort of long range interpersonal communication devices require enormous sum venture just as steady checking for better yield. For example, on the off chance that an association has a littler gathering of workers, at that point it will be difficult for the group to adapt up to the consideration required while checking the systems administration apparatuses. This thusly may hamper the notoriety of the organization. Every representative identified with the systems administration group must know about every inputs or remarks that are being transferred by the clients. Afterward, answering to the remarks is additionally required (Bailey, 2016). Hardly any associations do consider this to be a drawback too. This is on the grounds that couple of workers may abuse the open doors that are given to them and might disregard the direness of such remarks and inputs. A genuine responsibility of assets is wanted towards dealing with the web based life nearness over the Internet, for example, reacting towards input just as creating most recent substance. In the event that its not done in customary premise, at that point there is an opportunity to lose expected clients from the association which will prompt the terrible notoriety of the association in the objective market. In some cases it is hard to take part in internet based life organizing instruments as scarcely any posts can have an antagonistic impact towards the matter of the organization. Not many occasions individuals send poor remarks or audits about the organization on the sites like Twitter which can adversy affect the organization (Barker Gower, 2010). Henceforth, it tends to be said that couple of remarks can redesign the notoriety of the or ganization just as barely any remarks or posts can corrupt the notoriety of the organization. Not many of these terrible reactions can likewise originate from the representatives. For example, disillusioned representatives will in general offer their perspectives and considerations in the online stage which thus can make the wholes association in sad spot. Negative input or neglecting to react while drawing in with clients can harm the notoriety of the association. In this way, there is a possible danger of internet based life organizing. Be that as it may, on the off chance that the apparatuses are overseen precisely and successfully, at that point these drawbacks can altogether be let down. For example, in the event that a client leaves a terrible remark on the online site, at that point others will likewise survey the remark which can bring down the notoriety of the association altogether. A contextual investigation about the foundation association named Singapore Red Cross, fundamentally portrayed how five years prior this association only like different associations acted also like a government. Every one of the vital choices was made on the essential presumptions of the need of the charitys crowds. The entrance of web based life organizing devices has fundamentally helped association to draw in with different partners in progressively significant discussions in regards to the different ways the foundation can connect with, bolster and teach the individuals (Coombs, 2010). The online life exercises propelled by the association have helped them to acquire chips in just as to raise more assets for the individuals experiencing extreme maladies. At present, the association has a YouTube channel, a Flickr account, a Vimeo Account, a Twitter account just as two Facebook accounts. These conveying apparatuses have fundamentally picked up the consideration of different indivi duals around the world. Individuals at present can tag the

The Billy Pilgrim Traveling Library Hits the Road
The Billy Pilgrim Traveling Library Hits the Road Today is the grand opening of The Billy Pilgrim Traveling Library, a book mobile based in Houston, Texas. It will be joining the fleet of other trucks food trucks and mobile boutiques that navigate the city streets. On this first night, it will be a part of the Food Truck meet-up at the Montrose HEB. Ill be there, bags of books to donate in hand. I hope to see some your smiling faces there, too. Will it be worth it? Yes, but you dont have to take my word for it. Take a look at what the founders had to say about the BPTL. Could you introduce yourselves, and tell us how you came together for this project? We are Chris Grawl and Kelly Allen. We met each other a bit over three years ago in grad school at UTâs School of Information, immediately clicked, and three years later weâve got two cats and a bookmobile. Conceptually speaking, the Billy Pilgrim Traveling Library is my (Chrisâ) brainchild. Fresh out of grad school, Kelly got a four month gig as a cruise ship librarian, and I moved back to my hometown (Houston) from Austin to look for full-time work. Amid this, I proposed an idea to a couple of my buddies about a fusion library/bookstore set up in a commercial property/strip center, from which we would rent out, trade, and sell our books, music, and movies. I found full-time work shortly thereafter and the idea just sort of sat there. Kelly returned from abroad and we moved to Montrose, where we very quickly acclimated ourselves to Houstonâs incredible food truck culture. This, coupled with an observed need in the library world for unaffiliated bookmobile services, caused the library/bookstore idea to evolve into a mobile enterprise, where we would work out of a bookmobile that would function both as a house for our traveling collection as well as a rentable empty space. I (Chris) wrote an essay about this a while back. You can read it here. What made you name the Bookmobile after Vonneguts protagonist from Slaughterhouse 5? Does the book hold special meaning for you? Naming our bookmobile after a Vonnegut character (namely, after Billy Pilgrim) speaks to both the character of our traveling collection as well as to our individual characters. We also like the sort of play on words with being a traveling library and Billy Pilgrim traveling through, or coming âunstuck in time,â as well as the notion that books, movies, and music do unstick us in time. Slaughterhouse-Five does hold a special meaning for us, but only insofar as Catâs Cradle and God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater and Breakfast of Champions and A Man Without a Country et al hold special meaning for us. Kurt Vonnegut has long been an important influence in both of our lives, and itâs something of an honor for us to be able to memorialize him in this way. How will the library work? The BPTL intends to serve two purposes: one, as a traveling library that works on a rent-barter-donate system and provides a variety of traditional and emerging library services; and two, as a bookmobile-for-hire which lends its space out to all mutually interested parties for mutually agreeable means. The traveling library component will function much like Netflix. There is an annual membership fee ranging from $5 to $20, depending on the memberâs chosen plan. A $5 annual membership fee allows you one item out at a time; $20 allows you five out at a time. There are no due dates or late fees. We encourage our collection to be used as a library as something that belongs to everyone but there is nothing in place to stop you from keeping the item(s) youâve checked out forever, and there are no repercussions for doing so. You may also try to barter for some of our items. Throw something our way cash, books, records, a sandwich and see what of ours that gets you. In addition to our physical collection, we hope to offer services such as reference (including Readerâs Advisory) and research, wi-fi, a reservation system, a mixtape trade, and book clubs. Weâll also have tax receipts for in-kind item donations, voter registration cards, and applications for membership at other local libraries. Many of these are works in progress, but we ultimately hope to be able to provide all of these services. The bookmobile-for-hire component effectively renders the bookmobile into a physical and information resource that can be utilized by organizations lacking adequate outreach and marketing services, including but not limited to public libraries, museums, schools, and local businesses. Here, we will empty our shelves and make our space, our time, and our professionalism available to all mutually interested parties for whatever (mutually agreeable) purposes they see fit. We will be debuting this component next month in Odessa, TX to help celebrate the Ector County Libraryâs 75th anniversary. You ran an Indiegogo campaign to help with the funding for the mobile library. It had limited success. What did you learn from the Indiegogo experience? How were you able to come up with the rest of the funding? The Indiegogo campaign was humbling in a couple of ways. Namely: (1) in the amount of work we had to put into it just to get the (limited) results we achieved, and (2) in the number of complete strangers, many outside of Greater Houston and thus with limited access to our services, who contributed to our cause. In the last 24 hours of our campaign, we raised some $700, $500 of which was contributed by one complete stranger. The rest of the funding towards the acquisition and subsequent preparation and housing of the bookmobile and its collection has been paid completely out of our own pockets. A decent amount of our rainy day savings have gone into this project, but itâs something that we believe in, and itâs something that we know will prove rewarding, even if we donât make any money off of it, even in the long run. Other than funding, what is the biggest obstacle that you dealt with so far? What challenges will you have to deal with as you move ahead? I would say that the biggest obstacle weâve faced was simply getting our bookmobile to Houston. We found the truck through Craigslist, or rather a Craigslist aggregator that doesnât limit it by location. The truck we found just happened to be in Gallipolis, Ohio, which is across the river from West Virginia. We took the week of Thanksgiving to fly to Ohio, pick up the bookmobile, and drive it back neither of us having had experience driving any vehicle that large in our lives. But somehow, we made that 1,100 mile drive back to Houston without any incident. There has never in this entire process been any sign that this isnât what we should be doing, and that has been extremely encouraging. The real obstacle has been the greater process getting temp tags, booking flights, rental cars hotels, orienting ourselves with an 1,100 mile drive, getting the truck inspected, titled, and registered, finding a place to make our debut, and working on truck and library card design, then finding the right people to collaborate with to get the work done (not to mention the collection development, nonprofit processing, and inventorying thatâs been going on all the while). Thereâs just a whole lot (months!) of setup that has had to go into it for us to get to where we are now, and thereâs still a lot of work to be done before weâre able to provide all of the services weâd like to provide (i.e. wifi, tax exemptions). When and where will the library be available? What sort of schedule are you hoping to keep? At the moment, we both have full-time jobs supplemental to the work weâre putting into this project, which unfortunately limits the schedule we can (potentially) keep to weekends, with a heavy emphasis on Fridays and Sundays. I do believe it will be to both our as well as the communityâs benefit to be open on Sundays, since all of the other public libraries in Houston and Harris County are closed then. So yeah, for now weâll focus on finding spots (and hopefully some regular spots) on Fridays and Sundays, then maybe look for some evening spots, and from there try to transition into a daily schedule. Where can Houston readers find you in the near future? What can they do to support the BPTL? For now, we only have one set gig in Houston. To be perfectly honest, weâve been focusing on the prep phase up to this point and have only reached out to a couple of places to see if theyâd like to collaborate with us. And only one of those places has bitten so far: this Friday, February 15th from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, weâll be debuting at the HEB Montrose Market Friday Food Truck meetup. We intend to park at HEB as often as their truck rotation allows. As we develop our schedule, weâll primarily target other cultured, tried and true truck-friendly locales, including museums like MFAH and the Menil Collection, and coffee shops like Antidote, Boomtown, Inversion, Dirkâs, and Bungalow Java. Weâre also looking for places to park outside of the loop. One place Iâd really like to work with is The Shack in Cypress, and really weâre open to collaborations with all mutually interested parties. As for what folks can do to support us, the first thing they can do is come out to HEB on Friday and become members of the BPTL. Membership is $5-$20 annually, depending on the plan you choose. Patronage is one, if not the fundamental form of support for our project. Another thing they could do is donate books, cds, dvds, vhs cassettes, audiocassettes, vinyl, dollars, or time. We are an entirely grassroots organization, and our collection will be built around our own personal collections and what is given by others. We have a mantra of RENT-BARTER-DONATE. Participating in any of those three activities is really all the support we could ask for. (But word-of-mouth is also great!) _________________________ Chris and Kelly are also looking for some help with the trucks design: We are still working on our truckâs design. Weâre weighing several different options, including chalkboard paint and literary graffiti. Weâve got one graffiti artist that will be stopping by our Grand Opening to check out the truck and do some design brainstorming with us. Weâd like to invite other interested artists to stop by as well. Wisdom in Proverbs - Fear of the Lord - Free Essay Example
Proverbs is in a section of the Bible known at Wisdom Literature. The other books in this section are Job, Psalms, Ecclesiastes and The Song Of Solomon. The focus of these books is instruct men in the ways of the Lord. The Book of Proverbs is a collection of teachings from Solomon to his son, showing the young man how to live his life in a manner that was pleasing to the Lord. Proverbs mainly referring to wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 is the first point. A. What does the phrase the fear of the LORD refer to? When we think of fear, we associate the word with terror. Websters Dictionary defines fear as a feeling of anxiety and agitation produced by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc. For many, this would describe the feeling you get when you see a snake, or going to the dentist. Surely, this is not the point that Solomon was referring to. B. What, then, does it mean to fear the Lord? When we truly fear the Lord, we will recognize that He is the Master and we are the servants. This attitude will manifest itself in our having a respect for God, His word and in our having a desire to do what He tells us to in His Bible. ( Pro. 8:13). People who do not walk in line with Gods Word do not fear the Lord, regardless of what they profess with their lips. Therefore, when we fear the Lord, there is an elements of dread at what His wrath can do, but there is also such a respect for Him and for His will that nothing else matters but doing that which pleases the Lord. Oswald Chambers, said The remarkable thing about fearing God is that, when you fear God, you fear nothing else; therefore, if you do not fear God, you fear everything else. ) C. Would you describe your life as one lived in the fear of God? Does the dread of His wrath prompt you to holiness? Does respect for Him and for His will propel you toward obedience and godliness? We need to fear of the Lord in our lives! According to this book, the fear of the Lord will produce certain benefits in your life. When we fear the Lord, we will find certain things to be true. ) A. 1:7; 9:10; 15:33 It Is The Beginning Of Wisdom ââ¬Å"The best place to begin the search for true wisdom is in the fear of the Lord. â⬠True fear of the Lord is born out of a knowledge of how infinitely powerful, majestic and full of goodness God is. Before one can grow in the Lord, he must first learn to fear the Lord. B. :7; 16:6 It Motivates People To Holiness These verse tell us that the fear of the Lord promotes holy living. The person who truly reverences and respects the Lord as he should will not do anything that brings disgrace, dishonor or pain to the heart of the Lord. People who genuinely fear the Lord will flee from evil. The prospect of causing the Lord pain will be too great to bear! Job is a great example of what the fear of the Lord will produce in your life, Job 1:8 C. 10:27 It Prolongs Life This is not a blanket promise because any number of things can happen along the road of life that can take us out of here in an instant. However, generally speaking, those who live in the fear of the Lord are more likely to live to a good old age than those who live for the flesh and the world. Approximately 60% of human illnesses can be traced directly or indirectly to fear, sorrow, envy, resentment, guilt, hatred, or to any number of emotional stresses. Add to that the awful pain caused by alcohol, smoking, and even cancer and heart disease, we can see that a life lived in the fear of the Lord with obedience to His Word will result in a much healthier existence. D. 4:26 It Produces A Sense Of Security When we are walking in the fear of the Lord, we can have confidence that God is on our side. Notice Romans 8:31, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? The person who is walking in the fear of the Lord and is living by the Book will have fewer feelings of insecurity, abandonment and fear. There will be far fewer times when salvation is doubted. The fear of the Lord produces a strong sense of security and close fellowship with the Father. This is a huge benefit to us! E. 14:27 It Produces Life When we walk in the fear of the Lord, we are stronger spiritually than we could be otherwise. The fear of the Lord is like a fountain that continually springs up with spiritual vitality and strength. This enables the Christian to walk cleaner and closer thus avoiding the temptations and traps of the devil. ) F. 15:16 It Makes All Of Life Better (Ill. This verse teaches us that it is better to have limited resources and be in the will of God than it is to have plenty and the trouble that comes along with it. The bottom line here is this, when you are in the Lords will, and when you are walking in His fear, then your care is His responsibility, Matt. 6:25-33; Phil. 4:19. The life filled with things and riches is a trouble filled life. The life lived in faith and in the fear of God is literally carefree. ) G. 19:23 It Produces Satisfaction And Safety (Ill. The person who lives in the fear of God will be a satisfied person. They will have one goal in live, pleasing the Lord, and it will have been met. Therefore, they will have all their needs met and they will be happy. When we must have other stuff to make us happy, we never will be! When we learn to be satisfied with the Lord and with the privilege of walking in His fear, we will be permanently satisfied. Nothing will matter but the smile of God and it will be upon our lives. Notice, this verse says that this kind of person will not be visited with evil. The person who walks in the genuine fear of the Lord need never fear going to Hell, he need never fear many of the things that beset the world around him. By his walk in the fear of the Lord, he brings the smile and the hedge of God into his life, Job 1:10. H. 22:4 It Brings Great Blessings (Ill. The person who chooses to walk in the fear of the Lord can rest assured that this decision will bring great blessings into his life. There will be spiritual riches beyond belief, (peace, joy, hope, security, the promises of God, the presence of God, etc. ), there will be honor from the Lord, and there will be abundant life, John 10:10. The fear of the L ord, produces the greatest possible life that any person can ever live. There is no better life upon this earth than a life lived in the will of the Lord! )
